Can I place an order online for pick up in the store?

We want to ensure you get the best experience possible, so we wait until we're physically in the shop, pulling the items you've chosen off the shelf, before sending you a confirmation and charging your card. This way, we can guarantee that the items you love are secured just for you. We know how important it is to have them in your hands before we proceed with payment.

In a bustling physical store, items can sometimes be purchased simultaneously, both in person and online. We want to make sure you have the chance to claim your desired items before your card is charged. We'll confirm your order once we've double-checked availability, ensuring you're getting exactly what you've chosen.

We're committed to keeping you informed every step of the way. If any items happen to be out of stock, we'll let you know promptly. We want to ensure you have all the information you need to make the best decisions.

Once your items are ready for pickup, you'll receive an email confirmation, usually within 24 hours, letting you know that your order is eagerly awaiting your arrival. It's like a special invitation to come and claim your dancewear treasures.

If you place an order outside of our shop hours, don't worry! We'll start processing it on the next open day. For example, if you place an order on Sunday at 5 PM, we'll begin processing it on Monday at 10:00 AM, when we're back in action and ready to make your dancewear dreams come true.

What are your shop hours and location?

We located in Uptown Mall, just outside of the City of Victoria, at 3531 Uptown Blvd., Unit #107. (We're in between Starbucks and Best Buy.)

Our hours are:

  • Monday-Saturday: 10:00am - 6:00pm
  • Sunday: 11:00am - 5:00pm
  • Online: 24 hours

Do you have parking?

Yes, Uptown has plenty of underground garage parking and recently, it has converted one of its outdoor parking avenues into a giant outdoor cafe /walking area; making it super fun for families. 

Do you ship internationally? 

We ship in Canada and the United States only. At the moment, we do not ship outside of North America. Please see the shipping policy here. 

What is your return policy?

We gladly accept unworn, unwashed, and unused merchandise in new, sellable condition for a full refund within 7 days or exchange within 30 days from the date of purchase. To be eligible, all items must be in their original packaging/boxes, have all attached tags, and be accompanied by the original receipt. Please note that we cannot accept returns after 7 days or exchanges for items returned after 30 days, in used condition, or missing any original packaging. Any damaged items when we receive them are not eligible for a refund.

We do not accept returns on tights, socks, undergarments, earrings, makeup + wellness products, special order items or sale items. These items are considered final sales. Please see our full return policy here.

Promotional items

From time to time, we have promotional sales on items. Please note that discounts are only valid during the sale period, and exchanges made after the sale ends will not receive the promotional discounts. 


We do not accept online exchanges, as items may sell out while the requested exchange is returned and processed. If you're unsatisfied with the item(s) and wish to return it, we ask that you return the original item (s), and go to to purchase the correct item in a new order. We only accept instore exchanges; We only accept unworn, unwashed, and unused merchandise in new, sellable condition for an exchange within 30 days from the date of purchase. Where do you get all your products?

Do you carry items for men and boys?

Yes, we carry items for both men and boys including dancewear and dance shoes. 

Do I need an appointment for a pointe shoe fitting?

We offer flexible options for pointe shoe fittings to accommodate your needs. You can book a pointe shoe fitting appointment in advance or simply walk in without an appointment.

Here's how it works:

You can conveniently book an appointment through our online system to secure a specific time slot for your pointe shoe fitting. Just visit our website and select a time that suits you from the available options. We always have professionally trained pointe shoe fitters available daily to conduct fittings.

If you prefer a more spontaneous approach, you can also walk into our store for a pointe shoe fitting. While we strive to keep wait times to a minimum, please be aware that for walk-in pointe fittings, there may be a small wait depending on the number of fittings already in progress when you arrive.

To ensure ample time for a proper fitting, especially if it's your first pair of pointe shoes, we kindly request that all pointe shoe customers arrive at least one hour before closing. This will allow our dedicated fitters to provide you with the attention and assistance you need. Fitting times may vary in length, but please anticipate spending approximately 30 minutes to ensure we find the perfect pair of pointe shoes for you.

We are committed to making your pointe shoe fitting experience seamless and enjoyable. Whether you prefer to book an appointment or walk in, we're here to assist you in finding the right pair of pointe shoes.

Can I do a special order if my item isn't in stock?

We have the ability to order specific products for you from the majority of the brands we carry. However, please note that these special order items will require prepayment and be considered final sale. The arrival time for these items may vary depending on the brand, ranging from approximately 2 to 12 weeks. We will work diligently to provide you with an estimated timeline based on the specific brand and product you're interested in. Please note that not all brands will have items in stock; we will contact the brand and confirm with you prior to placing the order and give you an estimate delivery time.

Can I change my order after I've purchased it online?

If you need to modify an order after it has been placed, we kindly request that you Contact Us as soon as possible. We will make every effort to accommodate any changes to your order before it is shipped out. However, please be aware that once your order has been shipped, we regret to inform you that we cannot modify your order.

Don't hesitate to contact us promptly if you require any adjustments. Our team is here to help and will do their utmost to accommodate your requests before your order is dispatched.

Do you charge taxes on online orders?

Shipments outside Canada may be subject to duties and taxes. When receiving your package, your local customs authority may impose additional charges based on the value and type of goods being imported. These charges are not included in the purchase price or shipping fees paid to Stretch Dancewear; our US customers are responsible to handle any associated fees or customs duties.

What is your online return policy?

Great news! At Stretch, we accept online returns within a generous timeframe of up to 30 days from the date of purchase. Returning an item is a breeze—follow the instructions outlined on our Returns page.

To ensure a smooth return process, please include your original receipt and ensure all items are in their original condition and packaging. We want to receive the items in the same state when you first received them. Please visit our Returns page for complete details, including any conditions, restrictions, and step-by-step instructions. Can I exchange an order online?

Online orders can only be exchanged in our Uptown Victoria Shop. If you wish to exchange an item from an online order at our physical store, you may do so. Please familiarize yourself with our exchange policy here. For items purchased online that require an exchange, please be aware that the process involves returning the item for a refund and placing a new order online. This helps us streamline the exchange process and ensures a seamless experience for you.

When can I expect my refund for an online order? 

Once our shipping department receives your return, we'll promptly process the refund back to the original form of payment used for your order. You'll receive an email notification once the refund has been successfully issued to your card. Please keep in mind that it may take up to 10 business days or longer, depending on your credit card provider, for the refund to reflect on your credit card statement. We appreciate your patience during this processing period and thank you for choosing us at Stretch.

How do I deal with a defective item?

If you believe the item you purchased online is defective, we're here to help! Please get in touch with our Stretch customer service team at and provide them with details about the issue you're experiencing.
